My Journey to Canada
I wanted more!
I wanted to be better
I wanted to be able to add more value
So i began to think. What next?
I shared my thoughts with Cananda Edu consults and from that time on, I just went to sleep!
Judging from my past education and work experience, Cananda Edu consults suggested a Postgraduate degree course in Public Relations and Event Management in Sault College. Coupled with the fact that I was convinced that these course would offer me more practical and applicable knowledge of the course I wanted to study, it also had an opportunity for a work placement. That’s what I wanted. I wanted real change. I wanted to learn.
The admission came through and before I knew it, things began to happen, everything was sudden. My Canada process began.
I paid my tuition and applied for my visa and after waiting for a few weeks, I received a love letter from the Canadian Immigration office. It was a denial.
It felt like my life was put on hold. I had to defer my admission until the next semester and start the process all over again. It was the longest wait period of my life. I was…existing.
A few days after my birthday, I got another love letter from the immigration office, after 3 months of applying and checking my portal everyday and I was told to submit my passport. This meant that the visa was going to be granted.
I was happy. My family was happy. But beneath my happiness was the fear of the unknown. Was I really going to do this? Leave family, friends, and my job? The life that I was used to?
My flight ticket was purchased on the 5th of January, it was time to fly to the Soo. My departure point was at the Pearson Airport, Toronto and my flight was scheduled for 10am. I had checked in and gotten my boarding pass the previous night and I was ready for the new adventure.
Myself and my accompanying bags stepped into the airport and 9am we were ready to fly.
Now I’m in Canada and I have met some amazing people already. One thing that I have learnt so far is how to be effortlessly kind. Kindness is more like a culture here, imbibed in virtually everyone you come across. From being willing to help when it is evident that you’re struggling to holding the door and passing warm pleasantries.
The journey to bag my next degree has been wonderful! The learning experience is great and I’m so happy and excited about this phase of my life.
The only thing constant in life is change. Embrace it. Enjoy it and make the best of it!

Sincerely, getting a study Visa from Nigeria is hell. I searched through the internet to see if I can get a reliable company that will handle my study permit . Most of the responses I got was that I'm above the age limit , that I shouldn't bother. I was introduced to Can - Edu global consults through a friend . I had always wanted to study in Canada but then paying as an international student was a huge financial cost I couldn't afford.
